The 5 Keys To List Building Successfully
Having a list is vital for online business success. Web traffic to your subscription form and the number of visitors you subscribe to your list will likely drive the profits you make online. Most, if not all of the work you do should be directly related to building a list. To do so successfully, follow these five tips.
1. Regardless of the marketing strategy you are implementing, make list building your first priority. You should consider your approach to marketing if that is not the case today. Essentially, when marketing your business through any medium such as pay-per-click, social media or video, list building should be part of those efforts. For example, by sending the viewer of your marketing campaign to an opt-in form.
2. Direct traffic to your opt-in. This may sound trivial, but I have seen many online marketers focus on driving traffic to an affiliate website, perhaps a blog where the opt-in form is not prominent or a page where they are selling a product. If you have an opt-in page – send your traffic to it. If you are sending traffic to a page without an opt-in, reconsider your strategy today and put a form on that page. If you have a blog, let visitors know about the opt-in on the blog. You will not get any subscribers if you have no visitors to your opt-in page.
3. Have an enticing offer. Otherwise, visitors will not find any interest in subscribing to your list. A product you have created or an email course not found anywhere else could entice a visitor if they find the information valuable and relevant. List some of the benefits of subscribing so they can get an idea of what to expect when they are added to your list. Think value and relevant.
4. Provide value and build a relationship. Bombarding your list members with buy this, buy that or check this out, check that out will only shrink your list quicker than you can finish reading this article. Think of your list as your close knit group of friends. Communicate with your friends and provide them information that they can use – information that can help them build their business. Only then will they see the value in being a subscriber. Only then will they trust you. And trust is the glue that keeps you and your list together.
5. Let your subscribers know that they need to take action. Point them to where they can get additional information or to whatever action it is you want them to take. Otherwise, you will not monetize your list. If you build that relationship and establish the trust needed to keep your subscribers, they will be more likely to take action.
Your subscribers will remain loyal and less likely to click the unsubscribe link if you build a relationship and follow the tips in this article.
